I am happy with the fact that when I see all these posts and pdates of pictures from a party the night before, that I no longer get sad, or upset that I missed another party. I'm getting old in spirit and I embrace it. I'm slowing down in life and enjoying the better things in life that dont involve insane amounts of chemicals being pumped into my body. Life has so much more to offer and now i get to take it all in. My idea of a fun night is a stack of movies, the matress drug into the living room, some Ben and Jerry's ice cream, wy mife snuggled up to me on one side, and my little one passed out on the other side. Maybe even a glass of red wine. Life has become much more peaceful over the last few months. My little girl is turning into such an amazing and inteligent little person. Watching her learn something all on her own and seeing the look of acomplishment on her face is all i need. My wife grabbing my hand and pulling me close just to hug me and say I love you for no other reason then just to let me know brings so much joy and peace to my soul. Having this little being come up to you and give you a kiss all on her own brings a happiness no words could properly discribe. This, to me, is the true meaning of life. Sharing your love and compasion with ones that are close to your heart.
This family was a life saver in it self. While i still have much farther to go, it has calmed me down, and softened me up. I've learned so many new things. I've come to have more respect for those around me. Things are now cute to me. Little kids doing cute things actually grab my attention and make me say "aww" even out loud. Sometimes I do get a little embarassed, but I feel those who are parents are able to see the parental glow that emits from my shell.
And then there is work...
After getting lost and making a few wrong turns, the trailer was washed out and down the road we were headed for fuel, about 35 miles east down US-50 and a mile north on I-135 in Kansas. After we fueled, took care of business, we headed north to a warehouse in McPherson, KS. Ran into some big snowflakes but nothing too bad. Once we got further south it went away. Loading took about 2 minutes since it was only 2 pallets weighing a whopping 910lbs (i normally haul around 45,000lbs). Makes for a nice fast cruise to Memphis. We've been going 62 the whole time getting a fuel average of almost 8.5mpg (typical is 6.3 to 7.1 depending on weight and terrain).
